Lets talk about Sciatica a real pain in the behind , it is  defined as a severe pain in a leg along the course of the sciatic nerve. The pain is felt in the back of the leg running from the butt ( hip complex ) down the back of the Hamstring into the calf and foot.

• The pain may begin abruptly or gradually, and is characterized by a sharp, shooting, or electric shock-like quality.  Possible a history of back injuries
• Movement of the extremity (ie, leg) often intensifies the pain. You end up walking like someone who is looking for a penny on the ground .
• Pain may be uniformly distributed along the leg, but frequently there are certain spots where pain is more intense like in the middle of hamstrings.
• Pain is often associated with numbness and/or tingling . Like someone is sticking you with a Hot poker right in  the middle of your Butt…

Sciatica sometimes may result from any process which causes pressure or irritation of the nerve roots which compromise the sciatic nerve.  Like sitting on a wallet for men .This pressure may result from a variety of processes such as a ruptured intervertebral disc, narrowing of the bony spinal canal (called spinal stenosis) to start with. Again a History of back injuries in the Lumbar area

Now with all that said why are there so many who say they have the answer on how to get rid of it..this is a dilemma  for a lot of folks.. Yesterday I asked on my Facebook page the question ” Sciatica is a real pain in the ___”  and what I got was a ton ( well maybe 100) of different answers and cures  even  from the essential oil people. The Medical Doctors say they do  maybe a shot  or a muscle relaxer.. They do help . Some PT’s say  they have the answer  like do this and this exercise they also help . There are those who have  abbreviations like MFR, NKT, NMR, BVD, DNM ,DC, DO. and you  know what they also help.  Many Massage therapist say they have the answer (sometimes I am one of them that say that).  In my profession there are many CE providers  who claim they have all  the answers and everyone else is wrong.. those are the ones I stay away from. So the  question is who is it that one goes to… the bottom ( no pun intended ) line is…. who do you trust..  As Always it is your choice.
