Get the most of your workout

Subject: Get the most out of your exercise program.

Did you know that every exercise, when performed correctly

can help you maximize your core workout?

Here are the three keys that make every exercise a core workout that is good for you and your spine and joint health.

#1 Maintain spine alignment and joint alignment.

When you maintain alignment, your deep core muscles and superficial muscles are in the best position to work. When alignment is not maintained, extra muscles start to work, which over time can create tightness, pain and wear joints down.

#2 Use three-dimensional breathing

Three-dimensional breathing helps support your deep core muscles and helps keep pressure off your spine.

#3 Muscular Control

Control uses the right amount of effort for the exercise you are performing. Using proper muscular control is the most efficient and effective way to exercise.

Strategies that can negatively affect all of the above are locking the shoulders down and back, lifting the chest, squeezing the glutes, and pulling the abdominals in.

Using the ABCs (alignment, breathing, and control) is the safest, most efficient, and effective way to exercise.
